How to remove permanent marker from stag?

A friend owns this knife, which has much sentimental value to her. Someone at some point drew a 2 or N on the stag handle. Does anyone have a recommendation for the right solvent to remove it without damage?

Rubbing alcohol is typically my go-to for permanent marker, it shouldn't hurt the stag other than drying it out a little...just handling it will fix that with skin oil.

I have always used acetone but that has been on wood with a finish over it so I don't know if it will have a negative effect on antler.
