How To How to remove rataining ring?

Hello.

This is the idler wheel on the belt grinder. How can I remove this retaining ring? I tried it with screw driver but it's very difficult.

You're on the right track.

You get a pry thingie in the bevelled end and work it around.

Best to have at least two on hand.
You can use more than one at a time.
Safety glasses, because once it's free; it's headed straight for your right eye.

It looks like the ring is not seated properly, so you're halfway there.

Most likely he bend ring trying to get it out . If bearing are worn and he want to change them ............. he can hits bearing /or ring/ a little with a hammer and that will loosens the ring so he can easy pull it out .
