how to remove thumb studs on rat 1 folder?

Hello,

As the title says:

How do I remove the thumb studs on the ontario rat 1 folder?
Are they screwed together, glued og someting else?

do not care about the warranty dissapearing

i'd try twisting/prying them off with some vice grips.
theyll either be friction fit or screwed together so it should work
 
Got this reply from ontario knife company:
"The thumb stud is attached with a #6 torx."

does this make any sense to you guys. cant possibly see how to use a screwdriver on the thumb studs.....

I'd try this. Try wrapping some sandpaper around the studs before you grip them with the vice. The sandpaper will add alot of grip, so you wont slip.
 
I have emailed the company again - there is no place to insert a torx bit - only two idential studs - opposite each other.
