I'm pretty new to knife making. I have a few fixed blades under my belt and I'd love to try my hand at leather or rubber wrap handles. I've seen the stacked handles too. I think I understand the stacked handle pretty well, even though I've never done it. But I do not get how to secure the wrapping. Does it just glue down leaving a seam? Seems like that would peel away eventually.

I am yet to make a rubber or leather wrapped knife handle, but I have done it on bows I’ve made.

Depending on how you want it to look, your best bet would be to wrap it and when you get to the end tuck the end under the last wrap that you did, and if whatever you use is narrow enough, then take a wire and put a little hook on the end, take that wire and the last few wraps place it on the handle and wrap over it, then when your done use the hook and pull the end through, get it tight and cut off the excess, then glue that so it doesn’t come back through.

though if you use a good glue you shouldn’t have any problems with just gluing it down.
