how to secure the detail in sanding

Hi,
I want to renew my skirmish's titanium scales. I need to sand them or slide them. You know on scales are little holles. I dont want to hurt them. How to secure them? Any ideas?
(sorry for my english).

Depends on how heavy the grinding is going to be. I would use sth like very hard wax (Greenland wax for clothing, sex wax for surfboards) as long as it doesn't get hot you're set.
