How to sharpen a Scandi grind??

Yet another question from the new guy. I'm trying not to ask stupid ones!

So how does one sharpen a scandi grind? Do i simply try to mimic the angle on the blade on my stone? isn't that angle much steeper than a standard sharpening angle??

Im thinking I would lay the blade on its side on my stone and jsut barely lift up the spine of the blade and give it a go?

you want to keep both sides flat during the entire sharpening process when sharpening a scandi grind. if you raise the spine you'll put a secondary bevel on the blade.

Very good. Thats what I got to thinking... so keep it flat as its all one angle from the single bevel turn. Got it!
