I use the Superhawk to cut off the cylindrical stems of the vegetables prior to cooking them. The curved shape of the blade is very suited for this task. I am a bit worried about how to sharpen it though. I only have a Sharpmaker, I would be grateful for any advice on sharpening this knife.

There is an instruction manual that came with the sharpmaker that shows you how to sharpen hawkbill bladed knives :)

I would think the Sharpmaker would be the perfect tool for the job just using the edges of the stones.

The sharpmaker is capable, especially on the superhawk, which doesn't have such an extreme radius as other hawkbills.

I personally use the Sharpmaker for sharpening all of my plain edged Hawkbills with the exception of the tips of the blade which I use the Spyderco 701 Profiles to get them needle sharp.

I could use the 701 Profiles exclusively because they are a great sharpening tool too.
