how to sharpen chisel edge blades?

just bought a emerson CQC-7 and have never had a knife w/the chisel edge - what is the proper way to sharpen them????

thanks for any info

I've got the Benchmade 975, which is the CQC-7 before Emerson set up his company to produce them.

I use the Spyderco Sharpmaker. I do four strokes on the chisel side, holding the blade vertical, and then one stroke on the flat side, laying the blade almost flat against the rod. It's easy to get into the rhythm of it. I do about 5 sets.
