I have been collecting knives for only six months now, but I want to be able to sharpen them myself. As a newbie who owns a dozen Kershaw Ken Onion Knives, a couple of Spydercos and Benchmades, what is the best AND easiest way to put a razor edge on my knives without sending them in to the manufacturer?

I mention the Kershaws because the blades vary greatly in design from the recurved s30V Spec Bump to the straightish ZDP-189 Leek.

Thanks everyone!

Spyderco Sharpmaker. I carry a Ti and Spec Bump alot and reprofiled both on a Sharpmaker. Use just the corners of the sticks on the curves and then the flats for the straight part and tip. Works like a charm. Plus, you'll get a vid with it showing you how to use it to sharpen a whole bunch of different stuff.  Technically you could do most of this on any stick setup though. ie CrocStix and the like. Just make sure you don't round your tip if you're using CrocStix or just the corners on the SM.
