Spine thickness makes no difference, you simply abrade the apex (where the bevels of each side meet) at an appropriate angle of incidence, usually steeper (less acute) then the primary grind angle. Have you ever sharpened something before?
put a convex grind on it by using 200-600 grit sand paper with a mouse pad... This is how the knife was designed to be sharpened. But since it is from KH is probably wont have a proper heat treat anyways. At least mine doesnt. There a a ton on video on youtube that show you how to sharpen using this method.
