the tip of my knife is getting pretty dull and not pointing anymore, how do i sharpen the tip of the knife?

Take some material off of the spine to create a new tip. Try to follow the lines of the knife to make it look as original as possible. I then usually sharpen the knife because you get a kind I burr on the new tip. What kind of knife is it?

This is how I do it because I am lazy

the proper way is to actually grind on the edge, not the spine. That way you maintain the tip elevation, instead of dropping it. Of course after doing this, you must reform the edge, which takes time.

the one I'm trying to sharpen is the spyderco cara cara 2

When re-shaping the tip on a folder you should always grind down the spine. If you grind the edge back, the tip will move down the spine, which is not covered by the handle for very long on most modern folders. Grinding the spine down, you have a hope of keeping the tip safely tucked away when the knife is closed.
