How to smooth the action?

Would like to make a gentlemen's folder and need to get a smoother action. My knives are ok, for the user knives i make, but for these Gent knives I want a silky smooth action.
I use 3/16 " pivot with nylatron washers.

Would phosphor bronze washers do?........... or bronze bushings?
If bushings ase used, do you not need washers? How are they used?

GW, I don't know if you have one or not but till I built my slow rpm horizontal disc sander I didn't know what a smooth folder was.
My sander is powered by a geared motor and only turns 50 rpm so I can sand the liners and blade all I need to and they stay cool. Plus it gets all the parts dead flat in no time and you can even get a nice polish on the blade with 400 grit paper.
