I finally figured it out!!! I have been a pretty regular smoker over the better half of the last decade. Anywhere from one to three packs of Camel Lights, depending on the amount of beer/chips present. Up here in NYC...that now amounts to nearly $15 a day!!!

So here is my great epiphany...If I were to quit smoking....I could easily afford an awesome knife nearly every two weeks!!!

Figure, I am happy spending in the realm of $100 dollars on a quality folder, or about $200 on a semi-custom fixed blade...NO PROBLEM! Saving in the area of $80.00 a week make buying knives easy!!!

PLUS!!! Think about it..the misses, she wants you to quit, if not only to save money, to be healthy as well...NO YOU HAVE AN EXCUSE!!! I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather own a sweet new knife every two weeks, for the rest of my days, than DIE FROM LUNG CANCER!!!

Hate to be pedantic!

Take Care...

For what it's worth, I quit about 10 years ago, and never looked back. Then again, that was when butts were only about $2 in NY, so you have all the MORE reason to kick it TODAY.

If you need moral support, we're here. Any time you feel the urge to pick up a smoke, pour yourself a glass of OJ or V8, nosh on a pretzel, and post a message to the board here instead.

You'll find yourself smoke free soon enough!

Now this sounds like an excellent approach to giving up the evil weed (19 years and change here).
Spending the money on knives which are permanent treasures (unless your name is Cliff Stamp) is a good move.
Regrettably I've frittered all mine away, and would do so again!
In the immortal words of Sir Henry at Rawlinson End "If I had all the money I'd spent on drink ........... I'd spend it on drink!"

Easily one of the hardest things you will ever do, and easily one of the most rewarding. And the rewards come on many levels: financial, physical, and emotional.

Just watch how many knives you can buy each month. Makes it worth it. A day at a time, my friend.
