There's a guy on CL right near me who just posted up a Dragonfly and a Persistence, both used. Dragonfly is like new, Persistence has just been very slightly modded (sanded down edges and stuff to make it smoother).
I won't say what he's asking, since i'm not a paid member here and don't want to inadvertently ask about values.

The main question is, since I'm buying used from "some guy" i'm leery of fakes. What do I look for when i see them in person to spot a fake vs. the real deal?

There a very few fake tenacious around and probably very little dragonflies. You should not be too worried about those. but you could scrutinize the FRN scale on the dragonfly. the fakes have not copied it's pattern completely. there are a few good youtube vids on comparison, just use the standards of the Endura to get an idea about the dragonfly, the elements apply

I can say from experience- the fake DF2 will have torx heads on both sides. The back lock tension is quite light. If you have owned the real deal, you'll notice it doesn't feel right from the moment you hold one. Although, The fake H1 DF2 is surprisingly rust resistant??? Don't let that be your "clue". I have a few of the H1 fakes and none have even showed a pin point rust speck. Also don't trust the barcode on the box- it will scan as the real DF.
