How to store fixed blades?

I have a slight problem. I'm primarily a folder guy, but in the past few months I've picked up four fixed blades. All these knives came with leather sheaths. I never had storage problems before, as I said I have mostly folders and I just keep them in their boxes. These fixed blades are different. I know that you're not supposed to leave them in leather, but where do I keep them? How do you safely store a knife in a way that protects not only the edge, but also people?

I've heard you wipe down your knife with food grade mineral oil (lube)
and put on a plastic knife cover (condom),
and stick it in a drawer (box)
some covers even snap on (ouch)

leaving it in the leather sheath is fine as long as it has some oil on it like mineral oil or whatever else you use. i leave all my fixed blades in their sheaths and its not a problem. just out of curiosity what knives are they?

Go to the hardware store and buy a canvas or nylon tool bag. Lube up the blades ,put them in their sheaths , put in the bag and stash it.:D
