Have a Lansky, and two of the three rods I have are bent slightly.
Anybody have any secret tips for bending them back to straight?
I tried using a vise, but couldn't get them perfect.
Thanks in advance.

I actually gave up on trying to fix my single bent rod and just replace it with one if the good ones. I also just use the stones to freehand.

Couple of pairs of pliers?

To check straightness roll the rod on a flat surface. Make sure that you don't see daylight at any time. Shouldn't be all that hard.

Not all that hard to get them pretty close. Pretty hard to get them just right.

I think I'm going to agree with Strigamort- straightening with pliers should do it. The Lansky isn't a real precise tool that will benefit from extreme precision with the rods; There's a lot of slop inherent in the system. If I'm using mine, I just make sure they're reasonably close. If I'm looking for more, I use something else (Edge Pro).
