I have just got a benchmade 722, which i love. The only problem is that it has the black BT2 coating on it, which i dont love. Its a little bit Tacticool for my tastes. Does anybody know of a non-abrasive way of stripping it off, or is elbow grease the only way to go? Thanks in advance.

elbow grease and sandpaper worked for me (732). it would be cool if you could dip it in something without scratching up the blade. Mine turned out ok and did'nt lok so bad.

Put your leather gloves on and try your buffer with a coarse compound. Be careful to keep the blade cool (dip in water alot), and progress to finer compounds as the coating comes off.
