I was wondering how do people take vic sak scales off so they can put custom ones on?

dude,
check out the other post here, entitled:-
"Swiss Army Knife Uses"
there's a photo sequence on how to remove and fit genuine Vicky replacement scales...

Some people use a fine tip screwdriver and put it in the tweezers/tooth pick hole and lift. Personally I use a blunt blade and insert it from the middle of the knife, slide it towards the end and then twist. I find that I'm less likely to crack the end of the scale that way.

They pop off rather easily. I just use a thin edged tool to gently work under the scales until i can lightly torque them off.

I use the Vic Can opener and I start at the toothpick hole. Just slip it in slowly prying slightly as you go. Eventually it will pop off.

+1 - works great. just move along the scale and pry a little every half inch or so (I didn't measure, just went by feel)
