Just wondering because I have the rubber strap and it is nice but I have a Bond black/gray 22mm zulu band that I think would look nice on it. But if you know how to take the strap off of the model mentioned in the title of the post then your help would be appreciated.

Use a flathead electronics screwdriver and find the long spring side. Slip the screwdriver in and push the spring back and it should pop right out.

Yeah the Seiko spring bar isn't that easy to get to because the strap is a thick one and I can not see the little groove on the spring bar and my Leatherman Charge has a nice small screwdriver that I can use but no dice as of yet on getting the bar out.

You can do it with a small jewelers type screwdriver. They are tough to get out but just keep at it.

You can also order a springbar tool if you're not in a hurry.

I have a British gray (which has a greenish tint for me) strap I run on my 7002-7000 (basically an earlier version of your watch) and it looks good.

I have a Maratac Desert Tan strap on my Yao-modded 007 and I like the color. Here's a poor pic of it.

As a word of advice, I always put tape on the lugs of watches that I don't want to risk scratching. A strap change on many Seiko divers is a difficult process because they tend to use fat spring bars (shoulderless at that) with stiff straps. Glad to see you got it done though.

I was able to get the spring bars off with a little effort but that makes me feel safer because I know that they aren't going to go anywhere unless something is prying them out.

Pick up a Bergeon springbar tool at any good jewelry supply store. It'll be the best fifteen or twenty bucks you've ever spent. Makes the job so easy. Try Google-ing Bergeon
