How to tell if you have 20cv?

I recently purchased a lightly used Gen 4 Hinderer xm18 3.5' a few weeks ago. I was wondering how to tell if it has 20cv or cts xhp? Ive been told that generation 4's that have no stamping on the blade are 20cv, and the gen 4 cts xhp's have it stamped on the blade.

Any input is appreciated, thanks!

They both look like great steel, but is one prefered over the other between 20 cv and cts-xhp?

If you look at Rick's site you'll notice that they have different heat treatments on them. I have my favorite/s but that's a personal thing.

They're all good because Rick is a Master knife maker. He has each steel tweaked for optimum performance.

The magic is in the heat treat but ALL the steels Rick uses are affectionately referred to as "Super Steels" ALL my XM's perform, have and hold razor sharp edges, resist rust and staining.
My preferences tend toward size and deployment based more on my mood than one being better than the other.
As for the steel, makes no difference:thumbup:
