I see that the clones now say Rat 1 on the tang.. whereas before they said Rat 3 .

So how can one tell if they have a fake or not?

With a good enough fake, you can fool anyone. They tend to be too large, which is obviously hard to tell in a picture, and some of them have silver screws, which is a dead giveaway. The best thing I can say at this point is that if you can't be confident due to the source of the knife which is a fake and which is real, shop elsewhere. I really wish that wasn't the case, and believe me, the counterfeiters upset me to no end.

New poster here. Live in New Zealand and I notice a lot of stuff coming in from Hong Kong plus a lot of local Chinese owned businesses here.

Are there any counterfeits known of the limited editions or would I be safe with them? What are the measurements that differ that can be checked?

Thanks!

I bought counterfit on eBay because of the lime green scales...I liked them very much, but knife has nothing in common with the original, unbeliveable piece of crap...
A bit larger, action not so good, sharper jimping, and higher degree thumb ramp, I destroyed screws when tryed to disassembly for cleanaing after sea water, rusted in two days beyond belief...

@OKC
...do not worry sir about that piece of crap, just continue to make your fantastic knives and give us more varitey in scales, and blade steel and finishes as soon as possible...
