How can you tell which shop your knife is from? (1 or 2)
As you can all guess I am new to the forum, but I have learned alot
in a short time from all of you. thanks!
I will be purchasing many more HI Knives in the furture.
my first was a 18" AK.

All khukuris are being made at BirGorkha and have been for maybe three years. The old shop 1 is history.

Thanks Uncle Bill. I was reading your Bio on your site and read about the two different shops. I noticed the dates where a few years old so I thought I would ask. Thanks for the help and the chance at getting an excellent knife. Don't close up shop until I can get a few more. My girlfriend already knows what to get me for Christmas.
But I know I won't be able to wait until then for my next one.

Hehe, welcome to the cantina and welcome to HI. Uncle Bill is one of a kind - just like the knives he provides !

How long do you think it will be before HIKV kicks in guys ?

Brendan

I think the fever has struck! It has only been a few days since I got the 18" AK and I'm already planning on purchasing a 15" Sirupati next payday. and then a WWII and then........

Haddo:

15" Siru? Why not go for the 18"? Look up threads by Pappy if you're not convinced.

I didn't see a 18" only a 20" Anyway I just ordered the 15" I got the bug. I wanted one a little smaller and lighter than the AK. My next one will be the BIG WWII or Britsh service :D

Haddo, welcome to the cantina. You will find the 15" Sirupati very light compared to most any other Khuk except the little KK. My wife has used it in the kitchen a lot more than I would have outside.
When you get to the 18' and 20' knives, you are talking about some working tools. I will get me another 18". I used it an awful lot and it just got sharper when used on green wood especially.
My wife is going to give me back my 15 incher. I made a kitchen knife for her that she likes better. It was not because of the knife. She has weak wrists from stripping wires in all the years she worked in electronics. Yea, the 18" snake killer will have to be replaced.

Try to enjoy the HI folks Haddo thay are a good bunch. Uncle Bill will treat you right.
