How To Tighten A Loose Hawk Handle

I have a Cold Steel Vietnam hawk and no matter what I do the head keeps getting loose. I have soaked the head and handle in water for 24 hrs and it keeps getting loose after a few throws. I do not know if the problem is my target, a 4' diameter cross section of red oak or what.

To tighten the loose head there are a couple of things that you can do. First is double wedge the handle. This should secure it up pretty well for you. You can also soak it in Kerosene. This will tighten it up and won't evaporate out of the handle like water. Short of replacing the handle that is about all you can do. Hope that helps.
