I have a KP Pokara Puuko from Kellam.
A superb knife, it is one of the sharpest blades I've ever had.
In traditional style it has a wood sheath.
Nice sheath: one big problem:
the knife fits rather loosely and the knife drops out too easily.
Like a moron I tried to catch it once and got a very nasty cut ( that's how I got to know how really sharp this knife is!)

How does one tighten up a wood sheath like this?
Thanks in advance :)

Its not easy, but you might try gluing a strip of leather or felt inside the body of the sheath. I've tightened a few metal and wood sheaths this way. I usually try to glue a portion of the strip to the top of the sheath as a little insurance against it coming loose and ending up in a ball in the tip of the sheath.

Hope this helps a little. Its hard to do but with a little trial and error you'll get it.

Oh yea, do a trial fit before you glue the strip, I learned this the hard way once. :o

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
My father's nickname for me, roughly translated, was "two left hands", so the chances of success aren't too high, but I'll give it a try.

Yes, gluing a strip of leather is the way to go IMHO. I've done it several times with both wood and leather sheaths. I use Super Glue GEL; I find it holds better to porous materials than does regular super glue.
