I have tried the search engine and nothing even remotely related comes up. Since the image uploader is DOA, how do I transfer photos that I have uploaded to Flickr, to a sales thread in the exchange. Been trying to figure it out for 3 hours now, with no luck.

Also...

- cannot upload pics to albums, nor add attachment files to sales thread.

Once you upload to your hosting site (flikr) you need to view the direct link to the image, copy the link (including the http://) and paste it between image tags like this...
. These things are called "image tags", it's the same way you make text bold by using [b ] bolded text here [/ b] (I added a space so the tags showed up instead of just turning the text bold)

I don't use flikr but photobucket provides you a one-click button to copy the link already in the image tags, maybe flikr has something similar.

Note you need to use the direct link to the picture, not the link to your flikr home page.

In the next post I'm going to post a pic, if you quote that post you can see how it's done.

If I recall correctly, flickr links don't look like Photobucket links. They don't have the .jpg or other accepted suffix.

Dave, can you post a flickr link, just the link, don't try to img tag it. Lets see if we can use it the same way.

Thanks guys. I went with photo bucket, and finally figured out how to use it correctly. Pic post fine now and finally are large images. Thanks again for your help.

Esav, a flickr link works fine if posted, but just could not seem to post an image with flickr, even by image tagging it.

From my Flickr Photostream I:
1. click on the picture I want to post,
2. once opened, right click on photo and select size I want to see
3. once that is opened and I like the size (can be changed using menu above photo) right click on image and select 'copy image location'
4. Return to post on Bladeforums, select 'insert image'
5. paste link under 'From URL' tab, and be sure to uncheck the 'Retrieve remote file and reference locally' box.

And you're done.
