My Blackjack 125 came with a tan sheath. The handle is black micarta with silver guard and pommel, and is fully exposed in the sheath. I think it would look better if the sheath was black. Any suggestions? Dye? Shoe polish? Thanks.

Nextcity, First use a deglazer to remove the surface sealant, then you can re-dye black. All of my black, I start off with a blue under layer, this gives a deeper black and requires less black in the end. Most after market blacks have an issue with leaving surface particles of the black pigment if you use too much. Had to replace the drivers seat of a Lexus after using too much black on a customers belt. rtmind/randy

Thanks. I have my weekend project.

You can also use Vinagroon if you want to DIY. But, it can be a bit smelly....

Best bet is probably commercial dye as recommended. There may he areas with glue that won't be as black.....

With the Eco-Flo, it recommends only one coating, but if you want one of those commercial type hard opaque waterproof finishes, just keep putting coats on until it is like you want it. It does not rub off!

Had to Google "Vinagroon." Interesting. Thanks.
