I have a MOD hornet that I am trying to disassemble to resand the blade. But the pvot screw is held with lock-tite and I can't turn it without the other side turning as well...

heat up the screw to about 150deg. C (about 300deg. F). I'm using laboratory burner.

Acetone? where would I get some? Would a sodering iron be enough heat or too much? I don't have to worry about discoloring the aluminum right?

Unless the pivot pin only is slotted on one side ( or locktite is a lot stronger than I think) you should be able to get it with 2 screwdirvers. Just put one on each screw and turn them the oppposite directions, make sure you are turning them so that they are geting looser instead of tighter

. Be careful not to strip out the heads either.

It'll feel better when it stops hurting.

You can get acetone at any hardware store or just use fingernail polish remover, it's nothing but scented acetone.

Doesn't gas work also?

No slots what so ever on one side...I'm go with the nail polish remover first and see how that goes.
