How to us a leather strop to make a scary sharp knife!

Would you recommend using a compound on your strop? I have strips of leather I've purchased to make a strop, I'm just not sure about adding the green compound to it. Great info btw. Nicely put together.

If you want the best thing for your strop's talk Ken Schwartz and look at his CBN and Poly diamond emulsion's and they will work better then any compound they will also last a very long time,I don't use the spray's because you waste to much, you only need a few drops on the strop and your good to go for a while.

His phone number is on the contact page, also his emulsion's contain more CBN and diamond then any other's do on the market.

I have a two-sided strop - one with chromium oxide green, the other plain. Seems to work better on high carbon steels. Too much stropping though will take the 'bite' off the edge.
