Moose, last time I checked you were bashing a car with a tac tool. I need to post all the fun up on that campout that you missed, wasn't that just two weekends ago? PM me the info about May. I have flint knap, El Salv Trip, Trail days in Damascus, a bow making class and a darn wedding and dental meeting I have to attend, but I may be able to find some time :P

Here's a question: Where are you finding decent fatwood? Also, if you're interested, I'm thinking about hiking and checking out some of the fire damage on the mountains. I'm just waiting for nicer weather. :D
 
I'm hiking tomorrow if you want to go. Honestly the virginia or white pines up where we are at SUCK for fatwood. You'll find the occasional lighting strike one that is full. The best bet with these are to find the trunk of the tree, seperated from the ground. The ground in these isn't as good (though I have found some good stumps), but sometimes you can find the branch nodes that are just crackling with it.
 
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I can't find anything decent. I'm about to break down and just buy some. :p Yeah, I might be interested. I haven't really got to get out much since the baby came. Where you going? I'll give you a call in a bit.

ETA: Actually, I forgot I got a new phone a couple weeks ago, so I'm still recollecting lost numbers (yours included). or shoot me yours over.

you really have a lot of energy :D...sometimes it seems like you are very close to injure yourself...take care :)
 
yep, I probably am. I think I read on here there are 2 types of people who cut their thumbs off with a table saw, those that are beginning, or those that have been doing it for a really long time. Most of the time its just camera position. With the frontal shots its hard to see just how far away the blade is from you.

Great info and you are a crack up Joe :D You also make me want a machete even though I don't have a need for one.
