Hey everyone. Any experience with Ballistol for oiling blades? I’m currently using Singer oil, but I’m looking to try Ballistol.

What I like to do is wipe the knife dry, apply a thin coat of oil, let it sit for a while, then wipe off the excess. I do that for my carbon blades about twice a year. Am I doing this right?

Sounds like a good routine to me. Just make sure you pay attention to the type of metals you cover because it dissolves traces of copper, zinc, lead and tombac. Mineral oil seems to be the safest & inexpensive way.

I'm using H1 Ballsitol.
It is food safe and you don't have to worry about brass, bronze and copper.

Awesome. Thanks for the input. That’s reassuring for copper scales.

D DangerZone98 You could also try Go-Juice if your looking for an oil that can act like a pivot lube and it's very slippery and thin as well.

I'd post a link but it would just get deleted because they are not a sight sponsor, just google they are easy to find.
