Because of the radical difference in thickness of the spine throughout the length of the 710's blade, the knife wobbles back and forth on the EdgePro table too much to get a consistent angle during sharpening. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Some here have suggested using silly putty type material ont he bed, and then you kind-of "stick" the knife to the bed.

Every product has a weak point, and I am afraid you have found the Edge Pro's. For the edge to sharpen correctly, the blade has to stay put and not rock around. One 'rock' while sharpening can destroy ten minutes of previous work on the edge. The idea that Crayola mentions in his post above sounds like a possible solution. I am certainly going to try this idea on a BM 773 that has the typical Osbourne false edge ground into the spine.
This baby is not comfortable resting on either flat area.

I am not going to be able to try this idea any time soon as I am two weeks away from any store, so please let us know how this works out if you try it.

To deal with Rock'in blades, I use a small rubber coated spring clamp and clip the blade to my Apex honing table. This clamp is the kind you find in the hardware store for holding small wooden pieces for glue-up. Use the smallest clamp you can get away with, so it won't get in the way of your honing action. Also, make sure you get the rubber coated ones so you don't scratch your blade.

Cheers,
