Hi All,
I was doing the search here for a while and checked Strider website as well, interestingly enough no one ever asked this quesiton or I am totally missing something

Well, may be nobody sharpens them, but I have that nasty habbit of sharpening everything that I get

Anyways, I wanted to know, what's the recommended or preferered sharpening angle on Strider blades, MH in particular (that I got yesterday & love it

) may be sharpener as well. Ceramics or Diamond or edge pro should be fine, or it doesn't matter...

Well Gator,

i have an MT myself. i like to destroy my knives sometimes not by sharpening by hit it against a ka-bar to see who get the least amount of dent. i do the reprofile on a Spyderco tri-sharpener. i does take a while but it works. from my experience the ATS-34 is easier to sharpen on the Spyderco Tri-sharpener than 01 or 1095.

Gator,
I don't know that there are any special tricks per se, to sharpening a Strider knife, but one point I'll make real quickly, until such time as Mick can jump in here and give you a proper answer, is that the edge bevel angle on a blade is one of the variables that can be adjusted to help strike the best balance between edge strength and cutting efficiency. I'd imagine that Mick and the others have done quite a bit of rigorous testing to determine exactly what angle is the best for their particular knives. Assuming that you use your Strider generally in the manner in which it was intended to be used, I would then recommend using the magic marker technique to try and match the NIB edge bevel angle as closely as possible. Sharpening systems like the Edge Pro Apex make this task very easy and very repeatable, but the same can more or less be done with most any sharpening system.

Bronco,

Basically that's what I was looking for, may be there's something like predefined angle values.
Ohter than that, I don't really have much to ask, except may be Mick knows something specific to Strider knives that he might want to share
