How do I tighten the haft in an axe that is slightly loose? The head will move about a 3/8" with use. New wedge? Soak?

A quick search turned up not too much!

A picture would help to tell if you need a new wedge. Which way is it moving. Up-down, forward-back, or side to side? You could also replace the whole handle if you were inclined to do so.

The best way is to re-wedge it. Other than that you could try some Swel-Lock or generically DPG - Dipropylene Glycol. It will swell the wood inside the eye.

There are tutorials in this forum that will show you how to remove the old wedge if you choose to go that way.
