Hi Gentlemen,
Two questions, How to flatten Edgepro stones with the silicon carbide they sell ?
Next how to apply green buffing compound to a piece of leather ?
Coumpound is hard and doesn't rub into leather readily.

The hard compound is probably CrO (chromium oxide). Shave material off the stick and mix with mineral oil (available from your pharmacy for about a buck). It will dissolve easily. Mix to a thick past. Rub the mixture into your leather and allow to absorb. Wipe off the excess. Your good to go ...

I think you flatten there stones like other water stones. Put the silicone carbide powder on a flat (preferably 1/4" thick or so) piece of glass, then add some water, and grind away with the stone.

I've dissolved the buffing compound in Brasso metal polish with good results.

I use the DMT D8XX stone to flatten my edgepro stones. It works very quickly and very well. As far as the buffing compound, I smear a line of it onto my strop then put a little mineral oil on top of it and mix it into the leather with my finger. I've never tried dissolving it into mineral oil first but I suppose that would work too.
