mercworx lachesis, i was wondering if anyone had one of these. if so how tough is it and would you recommend it over a sebenza or wilson tactical? it seem pretty well made and respected.

Respected by whom? :)

The only time I hear about Mercworx folders is people complaining about terrible customer service on repairs.

I can't comment on their customer service (although I strongly suggest doing a search on them in the Good, Bad, and Ugly forum), but I've held some of their knives, both fixed and folders.

What I can say is that the ones I've seen were well-made. The lock-up on their folders is tight, and they open smoothly - as you'd expect from a knife in that price range.
The designs are unusual, yet practical. Their "chili" handle shape provides a comfortable and secure grip. I also like their recurve blades, even though I think the grind lines could be a tad higher.

Would I buy one? Probably not. I prefer getting a custom fixed blade made the way I want it to be for that kind of money.
