How tough is the Mnandi compared to a Sebenza? I am intimately familiar with Sebenzas so that would be a good reference point for me to best undertsand the strength of the Mnandi. I have only even handled a Mnandi once so I am basically, completely unfamiliar with them.

They are equally tough, given the task that they are meant to use for!
A Sebenza is more rugged than the Mnandi and, thus, will take on "harder jobs".
The Mnandi is an awesome little knife, which is more for 'office use".

they will not do the same tasks, but still excell in the tasks they were designed for!!!

Blade tip on a Mnandi is considerably more fragile than on Sebenza. Different kind of knife. I'd be not able to exist without mine... pair of both Mnandi & Sebenza :D

The blade tip weakness I totally understand since it's thinner and a different shape and profile.

How about the strength of the lockup and pivot point?

Thanks for the information. Sounds like the Mnandi is perhaps as strong as they come as far as gentleman's folders go. I may end up in a new profession soon where knife use must be extremely descrete and non-threatening but I am also a person that insisted on a lot of strength from my knives so I'm interested in a gentleman's folder that is a A LOT stronger than a gentleman's folder normally is, or at least as strong as I can find. I have had a few Sebbies so I know how they're built. :) Basically what I am looking for is a knife that when I pull it out of my pocket people will be impressed with it's looks rather than terrified because it's a knife, but I also want a knife that will be tuff enough when the SHTF. :)
