I have a SRK compact (its my first fixed blade ) this knife knew a lot of abuse (baton very hard wood with a 8 pound piece of wood, scraping stone, noobie sharpening)

The handle took a little bit of space with the tang (no rattle or whatsoever)

obviously, now i have more experience in the use of fixed blade, I would never do this kind of thing again

But im a bit concerned with this handle problem

A standard size Srk, can handle REGULAR batoning without took this handle problem ?

Thanks all, and sorry for my english

Shouldn't be a problem , unless you hit the handle often .

Might try one of the Drop Forged models , if your aim is poor . ;)

Probably be OK, but what is the definition of REGULAR Batoning, I don't see it as a batoning tool. I prefer to get the right tool for the job.

Maybe something along the lines of a Becker BK2.

Man, my local seller is taking forever to restock on SRKs.
