Hello you guys
Sounds like a silly question, because the function seems to be clear, but if you decide buying a knife with a false edge, and you don´t really need it, maybe that´s the wrong decision imho.
That´s what I am thinking about at the moment, as I am pondering, which knife I going to acquire in the next future.
Where it makes sense is the combat knife however, curious that many good and of cause expensive fighting knives don´t have a false edge.
Nevertheless, to penetrate thick clothes I find it plausible.
So, I have a question to hunters, who have experience with wild boars, bears and other animals with tough hide.
If you have a knife with a well tapered point, but without a sharpened back clip point shape like the trailmaster from Cold Steel for ex. - is it a problem to reach the vitals? Ok, maybe you need a little bit more power to stab, but if this would be the only handicap, I suggest the advantage you have with a plain or not extremely sharpend edge might be more important.
Sorry for my insufficient English, but I hope there is a guy trying to understand my problem.
Thanks in advance
Holger
