How well do the leather inlays hold up?

I'm looking at a large classic blue leather in CE, if I can order it in CE. It would be a user, but not really a beater. I have my Large Micarta for a beater Sebbie :D. It would ride in my pocket via the clip, no sheaths. I don't carry coins so I'm not worried about that. I do carry my SAK Midnight Manager 2 RF pocket, it does rub against the pivot area from time to time. Again scratches don't bother me, but would it be rough on the leather?

I just wonder how well it will hold up over the years. It might get a little wet time to time from a food prep, but would be dried off as soon as I was done. If they did get fuglied up would CRK replace them, or do they replace them on my dime?

I really like the look of the blue leather, but like wood inlays also. Sebbies are like tattoos its hard to have just one.

Thanks in advance,

Randy

wish i could help you, but i'd like to know the same information. I like the thin ride of a plain sebbie, but like the dressy look of the inlays -- leather seems like a nice combo. But only if it'll hold up over time...

That is my thinking also. I would kind of like a little feedback before I pull the trigger. Sounds like a great combo, and that blue as that "it" factor for me.

I'm gonna bump this one. I am too very interested in a leather inlayed Sebbie but would love to hear some opinions on their durability.

Well guys I have had no problems with leather inlays on large Sebenza's
They are put in there very tight .
I do not quite understand how they can hold up but they sure asa hell do.
Do not hesitate to buy one.

I don't think I'd lose sleep over it. All CR sebs are held in place w/VHB tape. If it does come off (highy unlikely), send it back for a replacement inlay.

Back when search was available I had done a search on the leather inlays and remember reading about someone who had a leather inlay and the leather had peeled up just on the edge. CRK asked for it to be sent in and was repaired by them at no charge to the person. That was about a year ago I read that, but I'm sure that CRK hasn't changed their policy!:D

You guys are kill'in me!................:D

I wanted to hear............."no they stink!, or NO they fall off after a day of use!, or NO they feel bad in your hand!"

Now I have to add another knife to the "must get list." :D

Thanks for the feedback. :grumpy:....................................:D

I talked to CRK and they said the leather lasts. If anything were to happen, they say send it in and they will take care of it.
