How well does small seb carry in pocket?

I'm wondering if the small Sebenza carries well in pocket w/no sheath, clip, ect. I'm especially concerned with use in dress pants. I'm concerned with it being too big and the Umfaan being too small. Help please! Thanks in advance, Dave

BTW, I carry an LCC inside waist line (most of time) and am concerned with "overkill".

Sebenza would be for everyday use. Any and all help appreciated!

Dave, I too thought of the umfaan as too small... until I tried carrying one! It is a user in every sense and I really do not feel underknifed for non-survival knife use with it. It has not left me down especially when in areas such as church my bigger knives draw too much disdain... I originally bought it just to have the trilogy but really I like it! I even sometimes "double Up" with a small sebenza and the umfaan. it does not flop around in the pocket of my slacks as the lerger ones tend to do.

My problem there is that I'm 6'5" and 250+lbs. I have large hands and don't want something that feels "too small" to use. Thanks though! Dave

I really wish there was one that was right in between the small Sebenza and the Umfaan!

It seems there is little size difference between large and small Sebenza's and big difference between small Sebenza and Umfaan.

I carry my small model in the watch pocket on the right side and it works fine for me

Dave.... I too am 6'5 and 250 plus.... I too felt that with my "ham sized" hands the umfaan was too small and I had trouble with it at first... I tell ya it really grew on me and it does "open different" . I am all for another size! but I don't see it happening (yet) At our size would I want it as my only... I don't think so but for a "dess knife in pockett use" it is good!

Happen to think the small sebenza is just about the perfect daily carry knife - especially if you have to work in a corporate environment like I do (Insurance Company). Haven't had more than raised eyebrows when I whip it out to open mail, etc.

Thanks so much everyone! I think I'm going to try and get the small Sebenza! Read somewhere about something to put on handle if you remove the clip. Is it necessary?

My first small sebenza just arrived today. I can't say how it carries yet but I can say that it is one awesome knife. The thing locks up like a bank vault and is silky smooth opening. I have large hands too and it fits them perfectly. I will be carrying it for a long time (hopefully). I don't think it will raise eyebrows at the office like a dark handled tactical knife would. I don't think you would be disappointed with one. I hope my comments helped.

Thanks everyone for your repsonses! I appreciate it. Now trying to decide on the plain or classic 2000. Dave

Dave - just to fill in the details on your question about the clip insert. We make a small titanium piece that fits right into the recess that is machined in the handle to accommodate the clip. The insert is held in place with a screw in exactly the same way as the clip. We started making these in response to requests from several customers who did not care to use the clip but felt that the open recess was unsightly. Here is a link to our web page that shows the insert (even though the picture is a bit small!) http://www.chrisreeve.com/accessories.html
