Looking at purchasing my first Sebenza, and really like the Computer graphic
models. Wondering how the pattern holds up,after months of pocket carry?

Or should I stay away from the bling ;) and purchase a regular, large, plain Jane?

Cg graphics come with a leather slip sheath, they do a great job of protecting the knife from bouncing around with other things.

I actually prefer the CG Graphics over the regulars...but some will say the regulars look better with age and love marks on the Ti scales.

Sorry, that all wasnt much help was it?

OZY, It all helps,:D I see your point though, about the plain model with its war wounds. Although I really like the graphic model called, Straight Ahead.
I can't stop thinking about it :p

I had a regular sebenza engraved by CRK and have EDCed it since early this year and other than some scuffs, it has held up very well. I have had unique graphics, like the small vines and EDCed it with my large regular and both designs held up well. I think the scuffs show up more on the blasted over regular than they do on the shiney surfaced small vines. I give the durability of the CG engraving :thumbup:

Good stuff :thumbup:sounds like the graphics hold up pretty well then. :D
The CG model is $70.00 more.

And if you are worried about it getting scratched, they give you a leather pocket sheath like stated above with the uniques, so your covered either way. I always put mine in a pocket with no keys or change and such, so that helps. Keys would do horrible damage and thats obvious. I carry mine clipped inside my right front pocket. But the graphics are durable, even if I dont go by my bead blasted custom engraved sebenza, my small vines can atest that they hold up extremely well. I had mine custom engraved front and back and double studs added, so it got expensive, but it has held up very well.

I like that one a lot as well. :) I'm having a tough time deciding between that or micarta for a large 21.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter because you will eventually own both lol

Don't say that!!!

Sebenza fever is tricky. First it's "I'll just get one," but then you start thinking of all the wonderful variations....... large, small, graphics, plain, micarta inlay, mamoth inlay, wood inlay, damascuss, calsic, 21, regular and on and on and on. All that being said, If you see a graphics modle that you like, get it first. If it's any consolation, the decision is easier for the second one you buy.

I am in the same position as you. Trying to decide between the plain and graphic model. I think the wear and distressed marks make the plain model look very cool, but I was not sure the same would hold true for the graphic models. After about 3 weeks of indecision, I finally ordered the graphic model this morning. I got the same one you like, "Straight Ahead", but in the Small 21. Hopefully, it will be here early next week. I am sure the wear marks will add to the knife, but if I do not like them, I can always send the knife back to the master every few years for refurbishing.

How soon do you expect it to arrive? Would like to hear your thoughts, once in hand.

I will post pictures when I get it. I ordered it this morning from Knifeart.com and it has already shipped. Should get it early next week.

Well I couldn't hold out any longer either. :p I ordered the large Straight ahead graphic, from Neil at True North Knives, about an hour ago, now the waiting begins..

Good move - you won't be sorry (although your pocketbook may ;)). In my experience, the CGG knives hold up just fine. As was mentioned, keep keys and coins away from it, but other than that they wear well. BTW, Windex will clean the anodized areas really well and will make them "pop out" visually.

Thanks Mark! I'm pretty sure this will be a user, and not a safe queen.
I have a knife pocket sewn in all my jeans/slacks, so my knives are never exposed to keys and coins, works great! :D

I ordered mine from Knifeart.com. They were the only ones I could find that had the model I wanted in stock. I did order my Strider SnG DGG earlier this year from True North Knives. A great dealer to work with.

Like all my knives, this will also be a user. I do not understand the whole "Safe Queen" thing. Why buy a knife and then store it in a safe? If I am paying $400 for a knife, I want to be able to use it, touch it, play with it and fondle it everyday.

She came in! Shipped from Montreal's True North Knives Monday, arrived here in Alberta, Tuesday. That's pretty darn fast......
I wont go through all the fit and finish details, as their are some of you fellas are way better at it than me. :D

I will say, that I have at least 100 or more knives, and some of them are real keepers. This Large Classic Sebenza, with the "Straight Ahead" graphics in one word, is AWESOME! I feel fortunate, that things have gone well this year, and was able to purchase one. If it was Friday night, I think I'd pour myself a good shot of Canadian Club Whiskey, and sit here till the wee hours enjoying
this fine work that CR has done.
