How/where is edge thickness measured??

Okay, so reading up on Krein regrinds, and knives that already have "very thin edges" and such, I find myself not sure how they are measuring edge thickness. When someone says it has a .010 edge, where is that measured?? Is it measured at the start of the final bevel??

Yep. It's at the transition between the primary and secondary bevel.

An alternate measurement is the edge thickness before the edge bevel is ground in. This is most applicable to knifemakers. They are the only ones who are likely to have a knife before it gets an edge. It is usually very close to the other definition.
