how wide is the guard on a loveless chute knife?

I'm wondering how wide the guard on a loveless chute knife is? I made mine from 3/8" by 3/4" wide, and the knife seems to be a handful. I did my first one out of 1095 basically as a prototype to see how it would turn out and I'm waiting on the mustard finish to dry on it right now, so I'll post pics tomorrow. But in this picture of one of the originals, it looks like the guard is much thinner, like 5/8" wide or something.

If you are speaking about Right to Left the pre-shaping size is .560" to be precise.
