How will you carry the AK-47?

Since the AK's will be shipping soon, what kind of sheath will you get for your AK-47?

I can't decide between kydex or leather. What are your HOGS opinions on these two mediums. Which material gives one the most carry options? I am thinking of normal hip carry and maybe a way to lash to the back or a backpack.

I had Leatherman rig up one of his patent pending "Crutch Sheaths" for me!!! :eek: It is AWESOME!!!:thumbup: Not only can you carry the AK-47 in public (with a limp of course) but you can easily use up one of the many unused handicapped parking spaces in front of Wal-Mart without being questioned!!!!. . . (just kidding!)

I almost went with his "Broken Leg Cast" sheath but I didn't think the manual deployment on this model could compete with much quicker, spring loaded, "push button" action of the "crutch sheath". 18 1/2" of razor sharp INFI at the push of a button!!! Nuke on!!!:thumbup:

AK in one hand and tequila in the other. Better get a pair of safety glasses. This could get messy.

I would really like to get a circular shaped sheath for the AK. Something that kind of matches the handle in shape. Kydex with a Leather wrap.

Hey Leatherman, is this possible?

OMG!! now that was great! :D:D Gotta work on that spring loaded thing though, shot the sheath at the cat by mistake, now he just sits in the corner giving me dirty looks. :o

Hmmm, this sounds interesting! I'll see what I can draw up. At first you had me visualizing a disk shape with the sword sticking out the top!:eek:

Possibly something shaped like the more traditional wood lined scabbards? Sort of an oval when viewed from the top. I'll know more when that nasty beast hits my doorstep.;) I am getting the "gawdawful green" handles right Jerry? :p

Yeah like the more traditional wood lined scabbards but with Kydex and leather or whatever you think would work best. :thumbup: :cool:

"Disk shape with a sword sticking out". Yes, and with gold frillies all the way around the edge. :D ;)
