Hey guys, how do you think a black coated military fair in the snow? Like, if i were to use it while snowing or something, do you think it'd rust? What about the oil in the pivot?

You will be fine I believe, S30V is very stain resistant.

i used to carry a CRKT M-16 waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, and i used to always get rust spots on the blade, from it being in my pocket and the moisture. Don't know how s30v and the metals used on the military would fair. My blur is the same, maybe it's because they're bead blasted.

It would be fine especially with a coated blade. Don't worry about it too much, S30V will only rust if you are abusive to it.

You'll be fine. I use the CPMD2 version in the snow and rain and don't have any issues. Just check the edge to make sure you keep it wiped down and dry, otherwise the moisture can dull the edge a little. I've never had a problem with the pivot on my Millie rusting whether S30V, CPMD2 or 440V.

It'll be fine, I carry mine with an uncoated blade in my pocket all winter while hunting. It gets wet and stays that way for hours untill I get back home. Even then, all I do it wipe it off on my pants.

A few years ago a girl used my S90V Military to dig baler twine out of the snow.
The knife wouldn't close because the snow got packed around the lock-bar. All I did was blow on it to melt everything (my Ti M-4 Mili won't have this problem, yay!).
I may have shaken the knife out a little.
If it's snowing and the temperature is below freezing, moisture content in the air should be 0%, rust isn't much of an issue in the winter (except from all the salt on the highway).

just had my CPM M4 Millie out in the snow a few days around new years. Considering this is much more prone to rusting and I didn't have a single problem I'd say you should be fine.

I had it with me horsing around in the snow, sledding, shoveling, cut some branches that were in our way, etc...
