How would I remove an etch from a knife?

I have a Cold Steel knife made from 420 stainless sub zero quench steel. It has Cold Steels logo etched on the blade along with "made in Taiwan" all in blackish grey etch. I would like to remove all of the etches without ruining the blade, how could I do this properly?

I seen another thread where sanding and grinding was suggested but is there another way? I feel I would ruin my knife if I tried sanding it. I have some spare acetone, couldn't I just wipe some of that over the etch?

Acetone will do nothing but clean the blade. Abrasion is the simplest way to remove the etch, sorry.

Went ahead and sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper. It is a little scratchy, not too much. I did kind of round the swedge lines but oh well. I can deal with how it turned out, I like it a ton more without any logos.

4 cuts from this 20 minute ordeal... shaking head.

The upside of sanding, even though it can scratch the blade initially, is that you can continue to fine-tune the finish with further sanding. Don't have to do it all at once, either. Just a little touching up now & then, making small improvement each time. The end result will be all-the-better if you relax & take your time. Maintaining the sanding strokes in one direction will also even out the finish.
