How would you carry your knife if you were at a lake fishing outa a kayak, with swim trunks on?

I'm just torn between making a kydex neck sheath for my ZT 0350, or just carrying it in my waistband. . . or rigging some paracord deal with clips. (Kinda shying away from the last one cause the clips might slip)

The ZT is a folder with a clip on it right? If so, I would carry it clipped to the inside of my waist band, with the kinfe facing inward toward me with the clip on the outside.

How well it stays there kinda depends on how tight your clip is.

Yessir! Yeah that's what I was thinking... it has a really tight clip.

I haven't gone kayaking, but I have worn a knife while jetskiing and white water rafting. I didn't use a ZT though, I used a Spyderco Endura. I don't want to risk losing a more expensive knife.

Yeah, I might just put it in my friends otterbox. just like having it at hand if I need it. I don't think I'm gonna do a kydex, cause if it's slips out It'll be gone.

I'm not sure why you'd want to carry any knife under those circumstances, but I'm pretty sure a small fixed blade will be more convenient, and certainly easier to get to should you really need it.

Yeah, would it not make a lot more sense to get swim trunks with pockets? It's not like they don't make 'em.

Ummm.. why wouldn't you? To cut line, clean fish, etc. I need to get a smaller fixed blade. money's tight right now.

AG Russell Bird and Trout. Knife locks into the the sheath, sheath clips to whatever. Under 30 bucks for perfectly good AUS-8.

I still do a lot of class 4 whitewater and have a plastic (of some type) quick release sheath sewn to the left breast of my life jacket. It has lasted me well over 25 years. (Longer than the jackets it has been sewn to.)

I would make a large lanyard out of parachute cord. It would be long enough to go over one shoulder and under the opposite arm. It could be clipped at the waist, but if the knife got loose, it wouldn't be lost.

I think I'm gonna try to make a kydex sheath for it. I can get free kydex at work... scrap pieces that is.
