How would you go about making a sheath like this?

So I'm planning on purchasing a Becker BK16 and making a horizontal crossdraw sheath for it. I'd like it to have straps with snaps for the belt loops, kind of like a scout carry style sheath, just carried in front over to the left (crossdraw). I'm not sure how I would do this. These are my plans:

I plan on using female chicago screws up on top (closest to the straps in the picture) with these type of line 24 snaps holding them on:

Then going down I'd have regular line 24 male parts near the center line of the sheath installed into a separate piece of leather on top, which will hold a firesteel holder. Also I'd have a button stud near the front for the retention strap.

Then at the bottom to hold that on I'd have chicago screws, both parts, going through that.

This is the only way I can think of that will allow me to have these straps without any metal parts exposed to the inside of the sheath, so that I do not scratch the blade of the knife. What do you guys think? Any help, ideas, or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here is a nice video I found on how to make a very versatile "5 way carry" sheath. Seems easy enough to make and very handy. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for but it might give you some ideas on your strapping predicament.

Cheers!

Thanks for the link! I think I'd prefer the "pancake" style sheath though. It's a little slimmer, a little easier to work with, and different from what I've done before (I've only made the fold over "taco" sheaths in the past, like in the video).

if I am interpreting the question correctly.. towards the end of the video.. He said he used 8/32 screws/allen bolts on the female side of line 24 snaps. (about 20min mark) However he had to grind so they would fit.

This is pretty much exactly the type of sheath I want to make, just for crossdraw instead scout carry. I have seen this video before, but there is one thing I do not like about the design. I do not like how the knife can't be held in the sheath by the retention strap if the belt straps are undone, because the retention strap is connected directly to the belt strap (hopfully that isn't too confusing to understand :p ). And for the problem with the screws I'm planning on using these type of stud/screws:

Which is pretty much the allen bolt and stud in one piece.

I might just follow the design in the video to be on the safe side and make sure everything works, just changing the type of screws to the screw studs. Thanks for reminding me of this.
