a bud handed me one of these the other day(#162)
certainly has some potential for projects
sharp little bugger of course
but how to carry?
not an edc or anything
but may very well wanna take er camping
was thinking just making a leather pouch
with draw string round the handle
but thought maybe some ya'll might have better ideas
thanks

i am in the same dilema.. i have 2 that don't have any sort of sheath...:o i was thinking a simple pouch with a drawstring would work fine..

Maybe take a thin strip of kydex scrap, heat it up and cover the edge, clamp with clothes pins or something and let it cool. You'd probably have to hold it on with a zip tie or something but it would work. Maybe cut a small piece of leather thong and stuff it into the kydex to protect the edge. If you've got the materials to mess with, it could be worth the effort. If you don't have kydex, you could try the milk jug method someone posted.

I think there was a thread on this a while back.
If it fits, how about just sticking it in one
of those 10 cent plastic cigar tubes
they sell them for paintball

if it doesnt fit, maybe a tube made out of kydex?

Somewhere on the internet (hopefully someone knows the link) they show how to take a wooden block and burn a grove in it with a hot wire for the blade to nest into.

What about plastic or vinyl tubing slipped over the blade only? That has been my plan anyway but haven't got around to ordering one yet. Then it can be put in a pack or bag or what have you. You can find a nice selection in a home improvement or hardware store.

hook knives are great for making spoons & such.
pouch with a loop of cardboard or milk jug to protect the insides from the edge would work pretty well.
so would tool dip - makes a form fit edge protector. (at least that's what mine was shipped with)

Clear flexable plastic tubing is available at many hardware stores. You can get it up to 2 inches in diameter and it would probably cost you a single dollar for two sheaths.

I use a pouch with sleaves in it for those knives and a couple other tools. It unrolls to expose the tools when I need them, like a carpender's belt, then rolls up and ties in a bundle when I'm storing them.
