How you folks at kershaw determine what knife get the AO feature?

I see the new "little ones " that are coming out are coming with assisited opening.

My thinking is if the larger version doesn't , why the small?

And just for the record, my ZT301 had the spring removed but my ZT300 still has it.
Same with one of my ZT350s. Two have it,one don't.
 
My best guess would be since the smaller knives do not have KVT or any kind of ball bearing system, the flip would need a wrist flick deeming the knife a notch lower in ease of opening.

I do not own a ZT but I think that the 0560 has KVT which helps make knife openings smooth and easy to open.

That being said I would guess ergos would best decide if a torsion bar would be needed or not, but being the noob I am I could be wrong. I'm just going with logic.

Also,

The amount of leverage on a flipper (or as Kershaw calls it, index trigger), pivot system, handle materials, blade type etc etc...
